6 Natural Tips To Reduce Hair Fall



     Today thousands of people have issues with hair loss, in a matter of fact hair fall has become common.  Previously hair fall is noticed after a certain age but today, on an average a person loses from about 50 to 100 strands of hair daily. Usually hair thins as you get older, this happens in women, unlike in men where the thinning of hair stops after a while.

      Though it is normal to lose and re-grow hair, hair fall seems to be an issue when there is no re-growth is seen. People usually get embarrassed when our hair clogs the drains after a shower or when you see huge chunks of hair on your hairbrush, pillow case, clothes, etc.

Basically there are two types of hair loss – ‘Scarring’ and ‘Non Scarring’.
Scarring: In Scarring the hair follicle gets damaged and hair can no longer re-grow resulting in hair loss.

Non-scarring:  It means that you have hair loss is attributed to a variety of issues including heredity, illness, stress, poor nutrition, and medications and the hair does grow back.

Here are a few simple home remedies that you can implement to reduce and control hair fall. But if you are facing an intensive hair fall then it’s better to consult a dermatologist before the hair damage becomes permanent!

Before directly stepping into the solutions, let’s sneak a quick look at the major reasons that might be causing your hair fall.
  • Aging
  • Improper / poor nutrition
  • Heredity
  • Illness and medications
  • Stress
  • Hormonal changes
Though there are many reasons for hair fall, unfortunately, not all hair loss issues are reversible. No matter what is the underlying condition for hair fall you still hunt for a solution with great intensity. 

It is always better to use natural / home remedies instead of choosing very expensive parlor or hospital treatments for hair loss. Try these following remedies to curb your hair fall problem.

1. Coconut Milk:
Coconut milk is one of the richest sources of tissue-nourishing. Cut the coconut in small pieces and grind it then squeeze the pulp to remove its milk. Soothing massage of coconut milk on the scalp will help you in reducing the hair fall.


Olive Oil Massage for Hair Fall
2. Oil Massage: 
Oil massage is another way to keep hair fall away. Take any natural oil such as, Olive oil, Jojoba oil, Almond oil or Coconut oil and heat so that it is lukewarm. Massage with that warm oil onto your scalp gently for at least 20 minutes and leave it to rest for an hour / overnight if possible and then wash your hair with a mild shampoo. (* Jojoba oil helps your scalp in replacing sebum and also helps in controlling dandruff)

3. Natural Juices:
Use of natural juices will help reducing hair fall. Rub your scalp with a cup of natural juice (which may be onion juice, garlic juice, Aloevera juice) for 30 min and leave it on overnight and then wash it off with lukewarm water. These juices help you prevent hair loss and balance the pH level of the scalp.

Neem Leaves
4. Neem Leaves:
Neem leaves are the best herbs which has many medicinal values. It helps you prevent hair fall and also provides effective beauty and health benefits. Boil those Neem leaves in water until the water quantity comes to half its level and leave it to cool for some time. Rinse your hair with this neem mixture one in a week for better results.

Antioxidants
5. Antioxidants:
Use of Antioxidants will help prevent hair fall. Green tea is the best antioxidant which not only prevents hair fall but also boosts your hair growth. Apply green tea on your scalp and leave it on for an hour and then shampoo your hair. (* In order to use the green tea, soak 2 to 3 green tea bags in one cup of warn water)

6. Amla Treatment:
Amla is one more herb that helps prevent hair loss. Use dried alma and soak it in coconut oil until it turns black. Now use the oil to massage your scalp, which is an effective way to reduce hair loss. You can also use amla and shikakai powder mixed with water  to make a smooth paste to apply to your hair and leave it for few minutes and later rinse your hair.

A few precautions that are to be followed while using any of the above home remedies are as follows:
  • Start drinking huge amounts of water 
  • Stop eating junk foods
  • Make sure that you are not allergic to the above mentioned herbs
  • Use mild or herbal shampoos instead of highly chemical shampoos. Better to choose some hair fall defense shampoos
  • Massage your scalp regularly for 10 to 15 min to help stimulate blood circulation. It also helps in keeping the hair follicles active.
  • Avoid using of chemical based dyes to color your hair
  • Don’t tie your hair tightly, as it may result in hair fall and breakage
  • Triming your hair regularly will avoid split ends and helps in hair growth.
  • Avoid combing wet hair as it is more susceptible to breakage leaving clumps in your brush
Along with all the above precautions increase the intake of Proteins, Iron and Vitamin A, B complex, C, and E. Include these basic practices into our daily routine along with the remedies for better results.
